Week 1 in Audio Antihero...

Birth of an Antihero
The plan is every month (or week, or other period of time) to write a little something, something about a place, person or unit that’s totally awesome. Although we’re intending to steer that away from any Captain Kirk, Van Damme, Stevie Richards & Rocky Balboa types and narrow it down more towards life affirming record labels, production companies or whatever else takes our fancy. Call it tribute, call it publicity, call it web-schmoozing, call it whatever – fact is, I’m doing it.
Now this, like most things involving my computer has a habit of getting derailed entirely my stinkin’ ‘inflamed tendons’ – but I’ll see how that goes. Maybe I’ll delegate it one day to some bright young go-getter with a sickening smile and a real understanding of how to use a semi-colon. ; until then, I’m doing it to the satisfying sound of a Faith No More bootleg and my creaking bones. Enjoy.

AUDIO ANTIHERO: SPECIALISTS IN COMMERCIAL SUICIDE
This month I’ll be (not entirely) shamelessly writing about Audio Antihero.
The idea to start a record label began with the revelation that;
- Music is really good.
- No one wants to get a proper job.
- All you really need to do to be a label is make some CDs and sell them to people (or try to).
So with this inspiring beginning, money was saved, things were done, and backslapping was exchanged. We’d officially spent a lot of money on things we didn’t really understand (glass mastering?) and managed to nab three of the best musical minds we could find (three people, two musical outfits) – WE WERE SET!
It was no surprise that the sickening 'biz' wasn’t exactly waiting for us to come along, but we have been touched by some of the enthusiasm and kindness that’s already been shown to us by strangers and music lovers who like what we’ve done or are doing.
The plan really was just to release Nosferatu D2’s debut album (there’s not many albums I’d start a bloody record label for, but for this one I would) and we’ve done that; we hoped to share some great music with some new faces/ears, and apparently we’ve done that; and we wanted to put together something that we could all be very proud of, and we’ve certainly done that.
So while it isn’t exactly ‘mission accomplished’ just yet, it’s been an exciting start for us and we hope you can stick with us for awhile. We always value your input; if you’ve any ideas, suggestions, spare time or talents that might help us reach new people and travel new avenues (or shift some CDs out from under my bed) – we’re always, always interested. Get in touch, you know the number.
We at Audio Antihero send our greatest thanks to you and the artists on the AAH roster; our heroes Nosferatu D2 and our favourite enemy Benjamin Shaw.
and in the meantime, can we ask you to PLEASE:
