Odd times...

Everyone has a voice, but no one has ears.

Very odd times.

Coming Soon...Shaw-a-thon

Quite soon, I'll do a week or so of rare & unreleased songs from Benjamin Shaw on this blog. I meant to start tonight, but I found out Deftones were playing soon, got excited and listened to all the Deftones albums in the wrong order instead ('White Pony' as we speak).

Sorry.

To tide yourselves over, you could, you know, BUY HIS EP.

But do pay attention, it's going to be *so* good when it happens.

Best,
Jamie "Nu-Metal lives!" Volcanodurst

Nosferatu D2

Being a super big, super happening, super busy, super successful label exec top dog lady killer, I have to spend a lot of time on google.

Today, my well was full.

You can of course catch Nosferatu D2's more hard rocking antics at the Myspace - HERE

Finally, the nineties remembered it left me behind.

In the next month or two, I'm going to see Dinosaur Jr, Pearl Jam, Pavement, Deftones, Built to Spill, Jane's Addiction, Rage Against The Machine and possibly Smudge, Stone Temple Pilots, Mark Lanegan and Soundgarden.

Screw you all. The nineties finally remembered that it left me behind, and it's coming back to get me. Thank God, or like, you know, WHATEVER.

I cannot wait for the next ECW PPV or Horror Franchise Sequel!

*sigh*

Everything I love is dead.

Paul Hawkins & Thee Awkward Silences cover Superman Revenge Squad

Hello,

Thanks to genetic super blog Sweeping The Nation, we've now been treated to a very special musical happening.

Anti-Folk GODS, Paul Hawkins & Thee Awkward Silences have covered Superman Revenge Squad's "Angriest Dog In The World" - and done a really wonderful job of it too.

Download it here from SWEEPING THE NATION'S Birthday Presents II!

Those of you in the know, will know that Superman Revenge Squad features Audio Antihero's hero (ooh?) Ben Parker of Nosferatu D2 fame. We released their album, if you haven't bought it yet, here is your big chance to not be an idiot anymore - TAKE IT!

Superman Revenge Squad is really one of a kind and very special, and "Angriest Dog In The World" might be my favourite song by him, I love it. Paul Hawkins & Co' though didn't disappoint at all, in fact they play it so naturally, it could easily be their own.

Paul Hawkins & Thee Awkward Silences have a new album out, entitled "Apologies for the Enlightenment" and you can buy it from Jezus Factory Records. Jezus Factory are really nice actually, they stock the Benjamin Shaw EP & Nosferatu D2 album too.

There's a lot of back slapping in this post, but it's all justified.

Fact.

Factually yours,
Jamie "Facting" Halliday

P.S Simon who runs the Sweeping The Nation blog also writes for The Line Of Best Fit, and he wrote a really nice bit about Nosferatu D2 on their for us - BANG.

Thanks for the awesome.

6Music Part 2

It seems people are paying attention to my web schmoozing*.

Shortly after paying my lengthy and wordy tribute to 6Music, they play "When I Fell Over in the City" by Benjamin Shaw and "Broken Tamagotchi" by Nosferatu D2 on Tom Robinson's 18th of April show (PROOF). Nosferatu D2 snuck their way into the highlights podcast too.

As the b.W.o would say "WE'RE...TAKING...OVER!".

Anyway, thank you Tom Robinson, thank you BBC 6 Music, thank you Fresh On The Net. You all made us very happy.

P.S turns out that I knew nothing when I was 16. "A Crow Left of Murder" by Incubus is a pretty good album.

6music

Not to be a mega bandwagon jumper or anything...but I would much prefer it if they didn't shut down 6music. There, I said it.

Tom Robinson said Ben Parker (Nosferatu D2 / Superman Revenge Squad / Tempertwig) was an 'absolute genius' and was very polite to me on twitter.

Rock on,
Jamie
